Equality and Cohesion Manager

£28,862 - £31,348 37 hours per week (1 year temporary contract)

Leeds, West Yorkshire

Our client manages approxima,000 properties on behalf of Leeds City Council in the North East & East areas of Leeds. They cover diverse communities and work in close partnership with agencies and organisations in the area to deliver decent homes and policies. Our client is a progressive organisation that is both customer focussed and performance driven.

Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an equality and diversity expert to join their team based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. You will need to be ready to hit the ground running in this extremely hands on and rewarding role, where you will bring their equality, diversity and cohesion agenda to life.

Working closely with staff at all levels, Board Directors, Council, Statutory Organisations and Voluntary Sector Organisations, the role will initially involve a focus on supporting us to prepare for verification of level 4 of the Equality Standard. Therefore you will be delivering a single Equality Scheme that covers all six equality strands and managing the smooth transfer to the Equality Improvement Framework.

Our client is looking for candidates with both knowledge of social housing and experience of supporting cultural change and mainstream equality in service delivery. It would be desirable to have experience of working within the voluntary sector, although this is not essential. You will also need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent).
