The Background:
An excellent in-house opportunity has just arisen within this Global Mobility department. Working as a Global Mobility Advisor you will facilitate and support the end-to-end lifecycle of home and host based assignees. To serve as the main contact for assignees and to consult in all assignee related matters.
The Role:
The responsibilities of a Global Mobility Advisor include but are not limited to the following:
Account Management: responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of assignees (Host and Home-based) on behalf of North West Europe in liaison with relevant internal parties to ensure that internal processes and procedures are met in accordance with GM Principles and processes, and with external parties to ensure compliance. Also ensures that assignee services are delivered as per defined Service Level Agreements.
Compliance: responsible for ensuring maximum compliance with regards to taxation, immigration, social security, corporate security and other key areas. Retains relevant expertise issuing instructions to nominated regional personnel to secure correct documentation from local authorities. Liaison with Country Focal Point to ensure knowledge database is up to date.
Assignee Advisory: carries out pre assignee briefings and offers ongoing advice and support to the assignee, HR, & business in liaison with other assignee centres where applicable.
Remuneration & Compensation: liaises with nominated internal parties to finalise income package and facilitate payment of relevant allowances ensuring tracking and reporting of all such payments for tax assessment purposes.
Assignee Systems: ensures accuracy of both assignee & project specific data on central databases (eg SAP HR) and supporting logbooks in line with GM process requirements and mandated policy documents. Produces reports & metrics as and when required.
Processes: Identifies and recommends the development and implementation of processes and system improvements to enhance the department's efficiency according to the business needs and in alignment with Global Processes. Acts as expert and first point of contact for team members in relation to specific areas of expertise.
Exception & Escalation: actions exceptions and escalations in line with internal processes facilitating correct sign off where appropriate & ensuring key documentation is retained for tracking purposes. Provides regular updates to key stakeholders and trouble shoots / escalates any issues where necessary.
Additional Support: Performs other duties as assigned by Line Manager, Operational Manager or GM Manager from time to time.
The Person:
Knowledge of German or another second language
Familiarisation with GEM assignment policies and procedures
Knowledge of relevant databases, e.g. SAP HR link
Applicants will have a good understanding of the assignment life cycle and the associated issues from start to finish.
Applicants with any additional knowledge of expatriate compensation, payroll or taxation methodologies would be desirable.
Education: Degree or equivalent in (Business/HR/Languages/ European Studies) or a combination, or relevant experience.
