The Background:

As the subject area expert, manage complex internal and external relationships and stakeholders to ensure effective, compliant global mobility delivery within the company to support the organisation's growth aspirations. To ensure that individual assignees or international business commuters are provided with timely advice, guidance and support.


The Role:

Support the HR Manager to ensure the global mobility activities are aligned with the business strategies and that all such activities occur in accordance with policy and relevant legislative and fiscal jurisdictions.

Maintain external focus and networks to keep abreast of new thinking and legislation and recommend strategies to achieve best practice and legal compliance, reviewing global mobility policies in line with latest thinking.

Partner internal colleagues by coaching and advice to ensure a deep understanding across the organisation of the principles and effective practices associated with successful globally mobile workforces.

Ensure and co-ordinate effective and sustainable international business commuting and assignments through a deep understanding of the key elements of effective and sustainable global moves and business commuting and the provision of high quality advice and practical hands-on support to business units and globally mobile employees.

Provide, apply and operate global mobility processes that support the business units and their differing needs in areas including but not limited to taxation, social security, visas and work permits, assignment letters, appropriate employee records, enrolment in international health plans, build up calculations, COLA reviews, provide cost estimates to business units, traveller advice and security, expatriation, repatriation.

Recognise, advise and liaise with line management, Group Finance and individuals on the personal and corporate implications and risks of international business commuting or assignments in relation to taxation (corporate and personal), social security and creating an permanent establishment/corporate entity.

Liaise with, co-ordinate and manage the relationship between service providers such as the company's professional tax advisors, visa and immigration advisors etc to ensure provision of accurate, timely and appropriate advice.


The Person:

An expert in global mobility, with experience gained in large organisations. They will be accomplished in the areas of international business commuting, international assignments and global mobility issues.

An excellent understanding and appreciation of assignment life cycle and international business commuting and the associated people and business issues from start to finish.

The ability to develop policy and communicate to stakeholders and interested parties as well as maintaining and developing standardised high quality processes to ensure required targets and deliverables are met.

Knowledge of expatriate compensation, payroll or taxation methodologies.
