The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is a major new initiative to grow a cell and gene therapy industry delivering health and wealth for the UK. Its vision is for the UK to be a global leader in the development, delivery and commercialisation of cell and gene therapy, and a place where businesses can start, and confidently grow. Based in London at Guy's Hospital and employing over 100 staff, the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is accelerating the translation of products into early clinical trials, providing clinical, technical, manufacturing, and regulatory and market access expertise. This exciting new initiative is the UK's response to the translational gap between early-stage research and the later stages of clinical development in regenerative medicine. Working with industry, academia, the NHS and the Government, the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is shaping the UK cell and gene therapy landscape. Purpose of Role: The purpose of this role is to assist the Business Development team in the delivering of commercial, CR&D and core business activities. This support role within the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult will immerse the holder of the post in a wide variety of activities within the department. From managing the companies confidentiality agreements, assisting in the delivery of CR&D applications, analysis of company, commercial and technical information through to administrative duties such as assisting with Business Development travel, team diaries and providing clerical assistance to our in house lawyer and patent attorney. This is a newly created graduate position, where the new incumbent will have exposure to an number of business areas within the organisation Key Accountabilities: Assisting in the analysis of market trends, commercial data, etc. to inform the Business Development team on general trends, target companies, and also specific projects/requests. Work with and helping to assist relevant Business Development managers to coordinate, target and deliver CR&D applications Assisting other departments and programme managers alongside the Business Development team in the preparation of CR&D applications. Assisting in the mapping and tracking of translational research and development projects, funding and partnerships within the EU in which the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult could be involved. Working with the In House Lawyer to manager the execution of confidentiality agreements. Working with the in-house Patent Attorney to manage and secure the company's patent portfolio. Experience: Proven ability to analyse and assess complex technical and commercial data. Proven ability to understand contractual terms and terminology and to execute relevant documentation for review Proven experience of archiving Knowledge / Skills / Competencies Analysis of commercial and technical data Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work quickly and accurately, with limited supervision, good initiative taker when required. Excellent organizational skills. Accurate with a strong focus on attention to detail. Keeps up to date with professional knowledge, expertise and best practice Proven ability to engage constructively with colleagues at all levels across different departments to deliver objectives A good team player. Education / Qualifications Recent graduate within Business Administration, Law or a Life Sciences discipline Working Hours / Salary The position is a permanent position with working hours of 37.5 hours a week from 9.00 - 5.30 with a salary of 20,000 - 23,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer 28 days annual leave, a Company pension, travel loan on completion of 3 months service and a number of salary sacrifice benefits. The position is to be based on our offices in Central London, with some potential travel to our new manufacturing facility in Stevenage
