My client, based in the North Norfolk area, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their large and well established business. The primary purpose of this role is to assist the UK Team to deliver their Health and Safety objectives through effective and proactive support, guidance, monitoring, measuring and behavioral development of the Company Health and Safety and Environmental systems, processes and actions.Key duties:- To provide the best practice Health and Safety to ensure zero lost time injuries- To be a lead member of the Health and Safety committee providing proactive practical solutions whilst educating and supporting other members of the committee and the wider UK team- Take minutes of the HSE committee and group meetings, ensuring effective communication to the UK business of resulting actions and proposed initiatives- Ensuring effective contractor management and supplier approval through the effective use of systems, processes and training- Advise/assist the UK team in tracking progress of actions and requirements relating to Internal/External HSE audits.- Carry out safety and induction training for new starters and refresher training for existing employees- Monitor and advise the UK team of updates/ delays related to any H&S actions, activities or projects- Plan, arrange and deliver training in line with business, health, safety and environment requirements. In addition, to maintain training records and visual display of training delivered- To identify, organise and assist in H&S investigations identified through near miss reporting, as and when required. Ensure Capex list is reviewed and updated in line with near miss opportunities raised- To ensure adherence to Health and Safety policy and practices at all times- Assist in management of HSE budget to ensure effective cost management- Conduct, review, develop and update risk assessment process across all departments- Carry out procurement of PPE and other specified HSE equipment- Maintain HSE training records and develop an effective HSE training matrix- Monitor and manage waste streams to include WEEE, Chemical Disposal and Aqueous Waste- Carry out regular housekeeping audits for the UK sites- Manage, monitor and maintain the UK HSE observation programme, Near miss reporting system and HSE intranet- Provide regular updates to business on legislative changes and ensure appropriate steps are taken to integrate these changes into the business- Adhoc duties as requiredKey requirements:- The job holder should be educated to A'Level standard with a minimum grade C in Maths and English (or equivalent)- NEBOSH highly desirable, NEBOSH accreditation with 12 months mandatory- Experience within the private sector is mandatoryIf you are interested please apply as below or for more information email Specialist Recruitment Limited is an employment agency and employment business
