Health and Safety Manager Vision On Design is a dynamic, entrepreneurial and fast growing Design & Display Solutions Business, which provides its household name clients with a unique, end to end service. Design and creativity are combined with client project management and supported by highly skilled technical and manufacturing resources, to deliver bespoke solutions, to the retail, leisure retail and entertainment sectors. Products range from building wraps and illuminated signage, to retail displays and props. The company employs 100 people, the majority at its manufacturing and head office in Ossett, with design offices in London. You will be based at the Ossett site, which is located just off junction 40 of the M1, so is easily accessible. This role offers a great opportunity to further develop our Health, Safety and Environmental management system. You will be a key point of professional technical advice whilst engaging the business at all levels. We are looking for someone who can effectively communicate health and safety policies, practices etc. in order to further develop and improve understanding and self-sufficiency (managers and the wider workforce) in the application of the good workplace health and safety. You need to be able to take people on your journey as you develop health and safety at Vision On. Some of your other key responsibilities will include: Conducting and reviewing risk assessments; Conducting surveys, analysis and action planning; Promoting the use of accident and incident reporting systems, monitoring trends and assisting in investigations. Identifying opportunities for improvement; Policy development and effective implementation; Coordinating health and safety training, delivery of tool box talks; Coordinating and chairing the Health and Safety Forum; Working with Production and Installation management to ensure induction and training programmes effectively incorporate all required health and safety elements; Ensuring our annual Safe Contractor reaccreditation; Providing administration support to the Human Resources Controller. You will be qualified to at least NEBOSH Certificate level and will have gained relevant experience within a production environment. If you have worked within an ISO9001 environment then that would be beneficial. Whilst technical knowledge, experience and qualification are important, just as key for us is the type of person you are. You will be down to earth, approachable, a great team player and able to engage people at all levels. You are articulate, can put your points across clearly and concisely, able to use your interpersonal skills to persuade others, and can work cooperatively to implement changes and improvements. You may currently be working as a Health and Safety Officer and looking for that next step up and into a more autonomous role, likewise you may be looking for a side step - we are keen to hear from anyone that feels they are a good match to our requirements.
