Established in 1993 with the acquisition of a small residential care home, Westgate Healthcare Group has grown steadily into a company that comprises of care homes in the Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London regions, delivering a wide range of services including residential care, nursing care, intermediate care, palliative care and dementia care. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR generalist, with strong employee relations experience, to join us as a HR Officer based at our Head Office. We are currently based in Hendon, however our Head Office will be moving to Borehamwood at the beginning of 2017. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HR support across the Group, and to independently take on projects under the guidance of the HR Manager. We are looking for someone with HR generalist experience who is innovative and enthusiastic - the post holder will be expected to act strategically in elements of their role and assist the HR Manager in the running of the HR department and in advising on HR matters across the Company. Experience of working within a fast paced HR Department is essential. WHAT'S ON OFFER Competitive salary of 27,000 - 30,000 per annumWorking hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to FridayHolidays: 25 days per year (pro rata) plus bank holidaysWorkplace pension schemeWork in a friendly team with experienced staff'Refer a Friend' scheme with financial rewardsOpportunities for career progressionGreat benefits package; including childcare vouchers, mobile phone benefits, long service awards and access to a wide range of offers and discounts from hundreds of high street and online stores DUTIES WILL INCLUDE (but are not exclusive to): Manage employee relations cases under HR Manger guidance (including investigations, disciplinary cases and grievances)Be the first point of contact for basic HR queries and escalate appropriately depending on the query raisedWork with the HR Manager to ensure that the Group is meeting the required regulations in all aspects of HR as set by the regulators, particularly the Care Quality CommissionSupport the HR Manager to implement the HR strategy in areas such as employee engagement, recruitment, performance management, absence and holiday management, training and development, succession planning and talent managementAssist the HR Manager with both administrative and strategic elements of the role and take responsibility for certain areas and projects, such as placing and monitoring of job adverts, tracking recruitment alongside Nursing Home Administrators, advising on applicants, conducting personnel file audits and following up on action plans with Home Administrators, monitoring Group KPIs such as sickness, turnover and retention, development of the HR systems, processes and paperworkProvide administrative support to the HR Department as required, alongside the HR Assistant, and work with the HR team to ensure HR databases are kept updatedAssist the HR Manager in ensuring all necessary records are tracked, maintained and are up to date by liaising with the Nursing Home Administrators on a daily basis THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT SHOULD: Be educated to at least an A Level Standard or equivalent and possess a full or part CIPD HR qualificationHave strong IT skills and be able to manage social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedInHave the ability to write comprehensive reports and letters, with HR Manager guidance, create documents for business use and work with Microsoft packages to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and ExcelHave an understanding of HR practices, procedures and legislation and have HR generalist experienceHave the ability to meet deadlines and organise and prioritise workload, working independentlyAbility to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writingHave a flexible approach and the ability and drive to take initiativeBe enthusiastic and eager to learn and develop in the role Although the working days are Monday - Friday, the applicant should be flexible in hours of work and be prepared, on occasion, to travel to Homes if required. A car-driver is therefore essential. Whilst experience in the Healthcare sector is not essential, it is preferable.
