HR Advisor Your new companyA 9 -12 month HR Advisor opportunity has arisen to work for an established and diverse public client, covering a maternity contract and starting in November 2016. Your new roleYou will be responsible for: Attend monthly meetings with designated Heads of Service to identify and give advice on HR and Training matters. This will ensure employee matters are pro-actively addressed, plans are in place, progress is monitored and evaluated on a monthly basisProvide advice and guidance to managers and employees relating to HR Policy and ProcedureTake a case management approach to more complex employee relations matters e.g. disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence. Where required, research employment law, case law or take legal adviceTo keep up to date with developments in the HR profession and employment law. This knowledge will be used to identify HR Policy and Procedure changes and HR Advisers will be expected to progress these with minimal input from the Head of People ResourcesTo project manage all recruitment activity from authority to recruit, job evaluation, advertising, managing applications, short-listing, organising and attending interviews as the HR representative, appointment letters and reject lettersProvide advice and guidance to managers on job descriptions, person specifications and job evaluation. To organise job evaluation panels, attend as the HR representative and issue any necessary documentation to employeesSupport the Head of People Resources to design, implement and evaluate a range of HR projects and initiatives e.g. restructuring, new policy development, training needs analysis. Undertake delegated tasks within own level of experience, with minimal support and supervisionAttend the Joint Consultative Committee when there re agenda items relating to work undertaken. To support the Head of People Resources with employee engagement activities e.g. survey design, results analysis, implementation and evaluation of action plans.What you'll need to succeedSignificant experience of working in an operational HR environment, including interpretation of policy and procedure.Experience of designing HR Policies and Procedures.
