The primary purpose of the Role of HR and Recruitment Assistant is to support the department in providing a proactive HR Service to other departments. The post holder will work as part of the HR Team to provide sound and accurate HR advice to managers on company Policies and employment issues, specifically but not exclusively in relation to recruitment. To support the activities of the HR Team by providing a comprehensive customer focused service, and maintaining appropriate HR Records and databases, The description of key duties is a guide to the work that you will initially be required to undertake. This may be changed from time to time to meet changing circumstances and is reviewed in the Appraisal Process Ensure an effective recruitment service which is carried out in accordance with agreed processes, schedules and legislative requirements.Advise Managers on specific matters in relation to employment legislation and the statutory requirements in relation to recruitment and selection, safer recruitment and equality and diversityDeal with all aspects of the recruitment process, including administering our vacancies on the e-recruitment systemDealing with candidates in relation to their applications, arranging interviews and advising managers on the selection process, as well as dealing with new staff appointments. To ensure that all pre-employment checks and clearances are obtained such as references, DBS clearance, right to work, gaps in employment, etc. Company responsibilities: Engage in enterprising behaviours and activities. Participate in Appraisal and Professional Development activities as required. Value diversity and promote equal opportunities. Engage in marketing activities as requested by line manager. Work within health and safety guidelines and be aware of your responsibilities for health and safety. Essential Skill set: Excellent communication skills. Excellent interpersonal & networking skills and telephone manner. Ability to work as a member of a team. Proven ability of being self-motivated and working without supervision. Experience of working in a busy office environment. Experience in Information Technology, particularly Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Office, Databases, Publisher, Internet and email Qualifications and Training NVQ Level 3 Qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject eg. administration Word Processing Skills to RSA 3 or equivalent. Ability to take detailed and accurate minutes.
