HR Business Partner (18 Month FTC) Our client, a global law firm, are looking for a HR Business Partner to join our London office on an 18 month fixed term contract, to cover maternity. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational support to specific client groups (both fee earners and business services) in EME. The role also involves supporting the delivery of the firm's people objectives across the region. Responsibilities Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of first line HR support to the firms fee-earning and support staff.Provide advice to designated client group(s) on all HR/ER issues, seeking guidance where appropriate.Support the HRD on more complex ER issues and provide coaching and support as appropriate.Monitor fee-earner and support staff performance and proactively deal with any performance issues in conjunction with the business.Monitor fee-earner and support absence issues and proactively manage asappropriate.Ensuring all disciplinary and grievance issues are dealt with in accordance with policy and SLAs.Manage the appraisal and salary review process for fee-earner and support with Supervising Partners.Conduct exit interviews for all departing staff and ensure thorough feedback is communicated as appropriate at all times.Accountable for ensuring compliance with all legislative and policy aspects of terminating employment, including:Advising Partners on procedure.Assessing risk and exposure where appropriate and tailoring process to eliminate that risk.Coaching Partners to conduct meetings effectively and in line with policy.Producing compromise agreements where necessary and liaising/negotiating with counsel to progress to signature, keeping HRD informed at all times.Attending and conducting termination meetings for both support and professional staff.Maintain HR standard policies and procedures, ensuring that they continue to meet changing legislative and business requirements.Regular attendance and participation at both one to one meetings and full team meetings as required.Support the Recruitment Manager for all support, fee earner and lateral recruitment within designated client groups.Working with the HR Director EME and the leadership team, to contribute to the design and delivery of the overall EME HR plan.Identification, scoping and management of ad hoc projects necessary to ensure the efficient and proactive running of the HR service. Key Skills, Attributes and Experience Graduate with 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably gained within a legal environment.CIPD qualification is desirable.Excellent organisational and administration skills with a collaborative working style. Strong leadership, influencing, management and team work skills with high level of customer service orientation.Pro-active self-starter, with past experience of taking the initiative.Strong knowledge base in all HR areas, including excellent Employment Law knowledge.Able to demonstrate past experience of juggling multiple priorities and projects effectively. Process orientated. Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders at once and build credibility with partners.Resilient when dealing with demanding clients.Detail conscious.Willingness to take on additional responsibilities broadly in line with role as required and a flexible approach to work.
