Senior HR Business Partner - National Coverage

Job Purpose

Develops an overall integrated and solution based people plan which is cost effective, offers strategic value to overall business performance and underpins the annual functional/ BU plan.

Manages the strategic relationship with senior business leaders in support of delivery of the people plan and BU plan. Partners with the BU operational leaders as a HR change consultant on major projects, which are aligned to delivering business strategy.

Responsible for the overall people plan delivery for client group through COE`s and shared services. Works in collaboration with colleagues inside and out of the function to lead implementation of strategic people programmes, change agenda and operational service to BU.

Accountabilities & Activities:

Strategy and Planning

Develops and cultivates key relationships with business leadership and is seen as an integral part of the team and main point of contact for HR expertise in the development of business strategy and in support of Bupa UK commercial objectives; to maximise delivery against customer and growth goals and P and L targets.

Leads the development of functional or BU people plan and strategic initiatives in support or organisational commercial outcomes. Brokers services from other HR teams to effectively deliver the elements of the people plan. Mitigates business risk through effective use of people. Ensure that plan and budget are aligned between BU/MU and people team.

Operates as a people change consultant, delivering optimal business change In order to continually reinvent the organisation, whilst minimising business disruption.


The post holder should have a relevant degree; professional or management qualification, plus CIPD member status.

Relevant experience gained with recognised market and / or industry leading institutions

Previously influenced middle management level in a number of different environments and driven people strategy

Advancing experience of and delivering change in a complex matrix business environment.


Able to coach managers appropriately and act as sounding board for senior management.

Able to take a broad view of organisational issues by directly influencing decisions which require HR management intervention.

Is able to build effective relationships at all levels of the business, respecting different cultures and needs

Ability to act as a thought leader and proactively influence key decision makers
