Our client, a leading manufacturer is looking to recruit a senior HR Manager with the desire to drive improvement and have the capability to liaise and train managers from all disciplines in best practice HR. You will need to very quickly establish credibility and move the company forward.

Job Overview

Originate and lead Human Resources practices, policies and objectives that will support an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasises empowerment, continuous improvement, quality, productivity and goal attainment, combined with the recruitment and ongoing development of effective and motivated people.

Main Duties

Advise and lead Directors and Managers on the whole range of employment and H.R. issues, including:-

i. Employment legislation (including TUPE).
ii. Recruitment and Selection.
iii. Disciplinary and Grievance matters.
iv. Attendance/ Absence monitoring and management.
v. Identification and delivery of training and development including monitoring and evaluation.
vi. Compensation - Pay and Reward strategies.
vii. Performance management.
viii. Employee Induction
ix. Employee Relations
x. Organisational development
xi. Staff retention and succession planning
xii. Change management
xiii. H.R. Planning

Manage the review, monitoring and formulation of commercially focussed H.R. policies and procedures and actively promote compliance with legislation and local procedures including equality of opportunity.

Negotiate and lead the consultation process involving the Trade Unions including wage and conditions bargaining, disciplinary matters, grievances etc.

Monitor, devise and develop effective Company wide communication strategies including staff engagement surveys.

Carry out departmental and company organisational reviews with Directors and Line Managers to examine areas of strength, development needs, succession planning,
co-operation issues, overlaps, communications etc, recommend appropriate actions and monitor and evaluate outcomes.

Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.

Provide and facilitate the framework for measuring and improving upon departmental internal/external customer service levels objectively and realistically.

Working with Directors and Senior Managers to ensure each area has appropriate measurement factors to monitor performance levels, agree continuous improvement
stages and timeframes.

Maintain and develop appraisal and goal setting systems for all colleagues to provide the basis for effective performance management and development of key people and ensure management resources and capabilities across the company are reviewed through career and succession planning programmes.

Identify and initiate continuous improvement with regard to all HR processes, procedures and organisational structures.

Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, incentives, employee engagement, flexible benefits and employee awards etc. Plan and conduct employee induction to foster positive attitudes towards organisational objectives.

Develop the firms reputation internally and externally as a responsible and considerate employer and as an organisation that respects the environment and supports its responsibilities through Corporate Responsibility programmes. To be flexible in terms of working arrangements and to deputise and cover colleagues as required.
