My client is a highly successful international firm of mechanical, electrical and consulting engineers, who have a client-focused and design-led service which is underpinned by a commitment to excellence and a passion for innovative sustainable design. The company has 850 employees plus contractors at any point. They bring over 150 years of design experience to every project and have worked on many of the most prominent developments in the industry.This role will report to the Head of HR who manages a team of 6 (2 x recruitment team, 1 x HR Admin, 1 x HR Advisor, 1 x HR Co-ordinator and Reward Analyst)Key stakeholders for this position will be in Bristol, London and other regional offices but mainly focusing in Bristol and London. HR is a central cost centre with the various offices across the UK paying for HR support via a recharge system, typical in most consultancies. As a result of this model it is imperative for the HR function to evidence clear return on investment and to really get under the skin of the business, truly understanding where to add value. The exec board is very supportive of HR from a strategic big picture perspective and tests the function to push ahead with what ii deems necessary.You will join a 12-strong People and Development team and be responsible for providing strategic and operational support to ensure the delivery of excellent HR processes and tools for the business. Working closely with local leadership teams, influencing as required to deliver fit for purpose HR interventions. Project management will form an important part of the role, as with the provision of advice to Partners and team leaders on people and performance needs and issues. Acting as a coach and mentor to more junior members of the team you will play a central role with the HR team as part of a cohesive, well informed group.Candidates interested in this vacancy will split their time between the Bristol and London offices with flexibility to travel to other regional offices as required.Membership of CIPD and experience in a similar role within a small to medium sized business is highly desirable as with in depth generalist/project management experience within a change restructure environment.In return you will be rewarded with a competitive benefits package in an organisation that recognises the contribution of it's employees.
