Your new company A leading multinational contractor and developer with a significant presence in across the UK have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced construction safety professional to join them as Health, Safety & Environment Advisor based from there Cheshire office. Working as part of a highly driven team that continually supports each other you will have the opportunity to develop and build a great profile within a vast and highly credible organisation. Your new role Reporting directly to the Health, Safety & Environment Manager for the Northern region you will be responsible for ensuring continued compliance across the arm of the business including driving a great safety culture and measurably improving safety performance. You will be supporting and monitoring all HSE plans and practices from initial design stage to completion across a number of large projects. You will be expected to support operational leads from across the business in there responsibilities ensuring they are maintained and understood including risk assessment, method statement, management systems and legislation. As part of this role you will be expected to carry out safety inspections and make recommendations as well as ensure all training within the team is up to date. You will also be expected to deliver reports at various levels of the business. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will hold a NEBSOSH General of Construction Certificate, with the NEBOSH Diploma and an Environmental qualification being highly desirable. It is essential that you have a proven background working within a major construction environments with infrastructure, utilities or road maintenance being highly desirable as is a good knowledge of end to end construction projects and planning. You will be a highly developed communicator able to build excellent working relationships across a number of levels and departments as well as having great written communication skills with experience of writing and reviewing safety documentation. Due to the nature of this role it is essential that you are able to drive and are flexible in your approach with daily travel and occasional overnight stays.
