The Background:
This leading in-house organisation is actively recruiting for a Global Mobility Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist advice in order to coordinate the assignment process from start to finish.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
To provide IA specialist advice and guidance to the client base (UK and overseas) on the various assignment programmes and the supporting operational assignment processes
To contribute to the development and implementation of IA policy globally and in the UK by providing technical and operational input
To take ownership of individual assignees (both inbound and outbound) from pre-departure through to repatriation, maintaining and updating all departmental records
To conform to established processes for outbound and inbound assignees within both global and UK policy and UK compliance regulations, making recommendations for change as required
To recommend on exceptions to policy in specific circumstances
Production of standard and non-standard reports and recharging processes for BU sponsoring management other IA departments globally
Liaise with international teams across the global firm to ensure consistency of policy application and operation and compliance from a UK perspective
To coordinate the preparation and presentation of outbound assignment packages for BU sponsoring management (UK and overseas) authorisation and assignee orientation
To authorise the provision of the appropriate administrative support processes for outbound assignees recommending on expenditure within agreed cost parameters
To manage the ongoing assignment processes for outbound assignees through to repatriation
To manage the operational processes and procedures for inbound assignees advising and guiding sponsoring management (UK and overseas) on package construction and cost projections, managing the arrival and ongoing assignment processes and ensuring compliance on behalf of the UK firm
To liaise with specialist internal/external suppliers, facilitating information flow within the various processes and highlighting any areas of concern
Liaise with BUs to advise on policy application and assignment cost management
Keep up-to-date with International HR and expatriate compensation best practice
Contribute to wider HR projects and initiatives
The Person:
The successful candidate will have previous experience of: international assignments, expatriate management or global mobility issues. Applicants with additional expatriate taxation, compensation, payroll or immigration experience would be desirable.
