Learning & Development Advisor
£30 to £40k
City of London

My client, an International law firm is looking to hire a Learning & Development Advisor who will primarily provide a full L&D service to business services and Legal PAs. The role will also involve servicing other populations, most notably trainee solicitors, as required. Approximately 60% of the role will focus on administration and co-ordination of core programmes plus some project work. The remaining 40% of the role will comprise delivering core training courses to business services, Legal PAs and trainee solicitors.

Key responsibilities

Core Client Groups Junior Business Services, Legal PAs and Trainee Solicitors
· Manage the standard programme of development activities for trainee solicitors, junior business services and legal PAs;
· Support the L&D Manager with the delivery and facilitation of the trainee development centres, working in conjunction with other members of the L&D team;
· Support and work with the other L&D Advisers to ensure consistency within the team;
· Review and evaluate courses in line with delegate feedback and business needs;
· Liaise with HR business-facing teams to keep up to date with issues and initiatives;
· Administration of Business Services Academy, including producing monthly newsletter, tracking Academy credits towards certificates and maintaining intranet site.
Design and Delivery
· Deliver learning solutions, including regular updates, out-of-the-room information, face-to-face training sessions
· Review and deliver core in-house programmes for core populations e.g. effective communication, presentation, performance review training and time management;
· Co-facilitate team events and co-present on training courses being led by colleagues.

Other

· Coordination of all business services, Legal PA and own bespoke events as agreed;
· Input into key L&D projects as appropriate e.g. intranet development, marketing L&D;
· Assist the L&D Manager with the design and development of training programmes and projects.

Work-Based Competencies

· Delivery of a range of training programmes e.g. performance review, time management, communication, presentation skills;
· Understand of key learning and development theory, best practice, principles and practical implementation
· Experience in reviewing and updating existing courses;
· New course design preferable but not essential;
· Experience of exploring development needs with individuals;
· Experience of carrying out observation and giving feedback;
· Ideally educated to degree level with a minimum of one year's training delivery experience (or equivalent) and one year's training co-ordination experience;
· Professional services experience would be preferable;
· Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dovetail and/or other learning management system
