Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Support Manager to join the team based in London. You will be on a full time, 12 month fixed term contract, with a highly competitive salary of 35,000 - 40,000 per annum plus benefits dependent upon experience. The job in a nutshell They have an exciting new opportunity for a People Operations Support Manager to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract initially. You'll provide on the ground management support to the London regional team; leading and quality and timely conclusion of employee relations cases. Managing both low and high complexity ER cases, end to end will be core to the role. There will als- be a need to support the development of, and deliver a range of training activities to upskill Hotel Management Teams in people management capability, including the effective management of HR processes and employee relations cases. Identifying themes and trends from ER cases you manage and support will be important as you build a higher capability of people management and employee relations management across the London region. What you'll be doing as their Operations Support Manager Stakeholder management - Build strong internal stakeholder relationships in the HR Support Centre Team with core relationships in the Employee Relations Teams. - Connecting with and developing a strong understanding of Operations in the region by building effective relationships with District Managers and the HR Business Partner and Regional Director - Hotel Managers and their leadership teams will be an overarching stakeholder as you lead, coach and provide training to management teams. ER Case Management - Lead (end to end) employee relations cases including but not limited to: - Fact finding (investigation) matters. - Disciplinary matters / hearings. - Performance Management matters / underperformance cases. - Grievances. - Informal resolution / facilitation of informal or formal mediation. - Flexible working requests. - Absence management cases - short term and long term absence. - Appeal cases, including probationary dismissal appeals. - Use a fix it fast approach, influencing operational teams in two way service level agreement compliance. - Using a quality checking framework and approach to managing ER cases. Training and Coaching - Identifying line manager training and development opportunities in ER and leadership. - Designing, delivering and evaluating ER training solutions in conjunction with the HR Support Centre Manager and ER Team. - Providing one to one and group coaching including chairing 'key learnings' meetings. What they'll expect from you to become their Operations Support Manager You'll enjoy and be able to work in an operational management role, being 'hands on' in employee relations. You'll also need to have an interest and ability to work to tight deadlines and lead complex ER cases, often involving litigation in a predominantly national minimum wage and multicultural environment. A basic working knowledge of employment law, including the equality act and the ACAS code of conduct is required. You will need to be able to work both autonomously to get the job done as practically as possible and also at times, with clear and specific direction. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important and you'll need to demonstrates an ability to build a 'role model behaviour' for line management ownership of people management / ER case management matters. As well as demonstrating these behaviours, you will also need to show an ability to analyse information and provide concise written and verbal reports.
