PGL is the UK's leading provider of residential activity holidays and study courses for young people. We employe around 2500 seasonal staff each year. We are currently looking to appoint a Recruitment Officer to cover maternity leave over a 12-month period. The Recruitment team is a busy, challenging and dynamic department, responsible for meeting PGL's ever-changing staffing requirements across all business areas and locations. It is crucial to ensure that PGL are not only able to attract, but also recruit, retain and develop staff across all levels, departments and operations. The Recruitment team are responsible for the full range of recruitment, delivering the right number of qualified, motivated employees, ensuring our guests continue to receive the experience they expect at PGL. Reporting to the Staffing Manager, the successful applicant will concentrate on recruiting delivery and hospitality staff for a number of PGL centres alongside key administrative responsibilities. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, efficient people person who works well under pressure, has excellent communication skills and attention to detail. As a Recruitment Officer you are responsible for ensuring that new applicants receive a positive experience from enquiry to arrival and beyond. As well as recruiting new staff, attending open days and exhibitions, you will also be responsible for communicating to and placing previous centre staff as well as regularly visiting centres. Working closely with centre-based managers and HR teams, you will provide recruitment support and work with the Staffing Manager and Recruitment Operations Manager to further develop the recruiting function. In practise, this entails matching applicant personality and skills with the numerous and diverse range of opportunities across the PGL estate, interviewing and offering jobs, organising contracts and communicating all related job information. You will need to liaise closely with centres regarding their staffing needs making full use of PGL's reports system and the HR Database (Snowdrop). Previous customer service and administrative experience would be an advantage as would prior experience in an operational role within PGL.
