The Background:

Reporting to the COO the role of HR Manager will be responsible for providing a top tier service to a dedicated portfolio of internal International Assignees. You will ensure all aspects of the International Assignees life cycle, from posting to repatriation/retirement, are delivered in a 100% accurate, timely and confidential manner.


The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible but not limited to the following:

Perform an HR Business Partner role working closely with the functional Directors to provide advice and support including; global mobility, recruitment and selection, legislative advice and resourcing recommendations

Provide guidance and support during operational changes to management and 100 expatriate and 2400 national employees

Advise employees on policy and procedures

Working with all levels to ensure smooth transition and movement of individuals (new starters, leavers, current employees, consultants, emergency evacuation situations, including medical evacuations) between countries, including managing work permit and visa applications

Preparing employment offers and employment contracts, negotiating compensation and benefits for new starters (nationals and expatriates)

Manage all aspects of mobilising expatriates from recruitment/selection, hiring process, visas, tax planning meetings, medicals, induction, new bank accounts, housing, schooling, vehicles

Manage all aspects of demobilising and repatriating to home country

Payroll management and co-ordination for 150 employees, local and expatriate with outsourced payroll consultant

Provide clear communication channels between business functions to ensure smooth running of payroll, benefits, recruitment, staff issues, and operational changes

Management of Employee Benefit programmes and administration for various office locations, including regular reviews of offerings and price comparables

Management of Corporate Travel Account, responsible for: managing travel budget, travel policy, implementation and adherence, reporting on a monthly basis to COO on costs

Relationship building and management with external legal advisors, immigration specialists, building maintenance and management team

Conducting exit interviews with staff at all three office locations, document interviews and report back to senior management

Working closely with Tax Director on expatriate tax issues, in/out country schedule, employee benefits and payroll changes

Managing a large team supporting the HR and T&D function


The Person:

The successful candidate will have previous experience dealing with: international assignments, global mobility and expatriate management issues. A solid understanding of generalist HR and the associated issues is also essential to the success of this role. In addition applicants must be competent people managers with demonstrable success in leadership as well as managing and developing direct reports.
