An HR Officer is urgently required within local government to assist in recruitment, disciplinaries & grievances (D&G), employee relations (ER), policy & procedure, training and development and job evaluation.
This role will have you working closely with management to provide operational HR support while keeping in line with the current service level agreements. You will be responsible for maintaining confidential employee information and ensuring that pay documentation is processed accurately. The role will also have you liaising on a regular basis with staff and management on policy and procedure. This will include sitting in on disciplinary and grievance panels, typing the minutes from those meetings and being a first point of contact for many HR related queries.
The administration of the recruitment process will be largely your responsibility. This will include posting of adverts, booking rooms, CRB checks, short listing and arranging interviews. The induction process will also have you participating in the training of new staff by insuring that all candidates receive pre course material, allocating trainers and assisting in the setting up of training rooms.
To be successful in this role you will need previous experience in dealing with salary administration, as well as have a good understanding of UK employment law. You must have confidence in using your own judgement in day to day HR activities. You must have excellent communication and negotiation skills. This role is a 6 month contract position to start as soon as possible.
