One of the largest biopharmaceutical organisations in the world, providing a broad range of knowledge-based contract research, medical marketing and consulting services to the worldwide pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of Compensation and Benefits, this role is to develop, implement and manage the reward strategy across Europe, aligning it with global policies and corporate objectives.
One of the key challenges of this role will be to prioritise the issues that need to be addressed and secure the buy-in of corporate management, constituents and stakeholders to the proposed schedule of implementation.
Experience:
Whilst candidates do not need to have pharmaceutical industry experience they will be expected to have an understanding of the service industry environment and will be accustomed to working with a highly qualified workforce. Specifically candidates will have:
•Broad Compensation & Benefits experience at an international level within a blue chip environment and new business opportunity or start-up situations
•In-depth pan-European local knowledge is vital, preferably including Eastern Europe and Baltics
•Technical expertise in and practical experience in applied compensation principles, methods and tools including technical expertise in a multiple of the following: market analysis, compensation programme design, development, and implementation, variable pay (including sales), salary planning/forecasting, and alternative reward design techniques
•Extensive experience in analyzing, formulating and presenting Compensation & Benefits strategy to business leaders. Wide knowledge of various approaches and recent trends within the realm of compensation and reward
•A basic understanding of pan-European employee relations issues specifically relating to reward
•Working knowledge of pan-European pensions legislation
•Remote people management experience of small teams
•Experience of working in an international company and in a matrix environment is essential
•Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills – able to influence and obtain senior level “buy in”
Education;
Good education to degree level ideally with a relevant specialist post-graduate qualification
