My client are a public sector organisation who pride themselves on their forward thinking and proactive attitude. They have recently undergone a re-structure and are now recruiting for a Regional Health and Safety Advisor to cover the North-West. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, duties will include; - Providing Health and Safety advice to regional managers and contribute to the improvement of national standards - Advise and influence senior managers to represent national health and safety issues in the development of regional and local business plans and initiatives - Advise, coach and influence management of all levels to conduct and manage work in a manner that is safe, by promoting the organisations management systems, standards and procedures - Promote the active management of health and safety across the region through the use of regular audits and inspections - Develop and deliver training and awareness raising in the region in order to equip managers, employees and trade union representatives with the understanding and competence to carry out their responsibilities in line with health and safety legislation, policy and best practice - There is also a clear focus on behavioural safety within the organisation so it is essential that you can demonstrate some experience of this You must have previous Health and Safety experience, particularly focusing on behavioural safety with a medium to large sized organisation, as this role will be looking after around 1000 employees. It is also essential that you hold either the NEBOSH or IOSH qualification. You must also be a proactive self starter with a genuine interest in Health and Safety issues.
