Poolia UK have an amazing opportunity for a proactive, efficiency driven HR Manager to work in a team of 11 for a fantastic city based media organisation. You will report to the Head of HR and have a hands on approach to managing the HR team as well as improving systems and processes. The role incorporates a very generalist remit, covering ER, recruitment, Disciplinary and grievance as well as the strategic aspect.
Main purpose of Job: To maintain a full HR service whilst providing advice on policy, practice and employment legislation to all staff ensuring good employee relations throughout. Direct responsibility for all HR issues within specified business area.
Duties:
You will act as a Business Manager for specific business area, ensuring HR best practice and establishing effective relationships with key staff.
Offer general support and advice to all staff on all HR related issues and contribute to the strategic HR plan.
Advise on all HR policies and procedures as required, ensuring legislative requirements are met. Keep up-to-date with changes in employment law and industry best practice.
Effectively manage and advise on the recruitment process within business area.
Be responsible for the learning and development function within business area, maintaining an effective appraisal process.
Attend and contribute at relevant meetings as departmental representative.
Line manage, develop and coach staff setting objectives, deadlines and encouraging personal development/professional growth. To act as a ‘mentor' for the HR Business Adviser.
To be responsible for absence management reporting, including holidays and sickness, offering possible solutions where required.
Person Specification:
Relevant business degree or equivalent
Thorough HR advisory background
CIPD qualified
Knowledge of and ability to apply employment legislation.
Ability to interpret and advise on complex policies and procedures.
Experience of managing and developing staff
