Our client is currently looking for Equality and Diversity Manager to join them on an interim basis.
Job Purpose:-
To advise the organisation in the promotion, development, integration and monitoring of the Equality and Diversity agenda throughout, in matters relating to employment.
To work alongside Service Managers, developing an “internal consultancy” approach to developing corporate polices and approaches that add value to our organisation and staff and in turn, the front line service delivery.
To advise and support them in achieving a workforce composition that is representative of the community.
Ensuring equalities for all is delivered is the challenge.
•Design, implement & promote an overarching diversity and equality strategy, and an action plan, which incorporates the organisations statutory & performance obligations.
•Develop and provide innovative solutions to challenges in respect of equality, in order to ensure that the priorities and objectives are promoted and protected within any changes in legal requirements
•Lead and drive to embed good practice, raising issues at a strategic level across the authority and be able to steer towards Equality Standard for Local Government (ES) level 3 and beyond.
•Establish excellent networks internally and externally to promote and enhance the profile of Equality & Diversity.
•To provide an authoritative ‘internal consultancy' service at the highest level on equality and diversity strategy.
•Represent the organisation on E&D issues by providing a high quality specialist advice on policies, systems and the approach required to place equality and diversity at the heart of employment best practice
•Advise the OD/HR Team on how to influence and shape Equality & Diversity best practice ensuring that all policies and procedures are in line with company objectives
•Advise and support the Staff Equality & Diversity Network to help them shape and deliver their action plans.
This candidate must have a passion for understanding other people's differences and how these can be harnessed to positively benefit the organisation. Operate comfortably in both strategic and operational levels, have confidence and ability to influence individuals, stand out from the crowd by exhibiting resilience and tenacity to get the job done.
