Job Description

Poolia UK have an exciting opportunity for an established Business Partner to join a professional services organisation based in South West London.
The successful candidate will have excellent working knowledge of Employment Law and Employee relations as well as a background in recruitment and of managing a team. You will be degree educated or equivalent and hold the CIPD qualification.
The role:
•Advise managers of most efficient and cost effective recruitment methods
•Recommend and agree with line managers the starting salaries for new starters
•Manage expenditure on Consultants and employment lawyers
•Budget management of projects to ensure that
•Input to the forecasting and budget planning process
•To be responsible for all UK recruitment up to director level
•To partner business managers to understand the business issues and incorporate that into HR plans and activities
•To work with the Head of Human Resources in developing and implementing the annual HR strategy
•To ensure managers are appropriately advised and trained in appropriate recruitment techniques
•To liaise with agencies to engage ad hoc and temporary fixed term staff as agreed by line manager
•To work with managers to address performance issues before they get to disciplinary stage
To manage the disciplinary procedure, up to and including dismissal,
•To monitor sickness absence issues and trends, and work with managers to reduce sickness absence
•To be responsible for advising managers on return to work strategies, particularly after long-term sickness absence
•Directly manage a team of three, including the Recruitment and Retention Partner, HR Advisor and HR Administrator
•Coach and educate directors, managers and employees on HR related matters
•To ensure that the recruitment process is professional and reflects best practice
•To be responsible for developing, updating and publishing policies and procedures, in
•To keep up-to-date with current developments in employment law and best HR practice,
•To oversee the exit interview process for leavers
•To evaluate roles according to the Hay job evaluation system all jobs up to director level to ensure internal equity in reward management
•To keep abreast of salary levels and market rates, and to advise managers and directors as appropriate, to ensure consistent and effective reward management
•To liaise with lawyers as appropriate up to and including matter relating to the termination of employment and compromise agreements to ensure issues are handled according to good practice and within legal parameters
•To work with and be coached by Learning and Development partner on ad hoc projects
••To sign off the payroll run each month with the Financial Controller

Solid HR experience, including recruitment experience for senior roles and strong generalist experience including employee relations issues in line with employment law.
