Our client, a leading commercial law firm based in the City of London is seeking to appoint a commercially focused HR Manager to take a key role in the development of their people and their business. You will have full generalist HR responsibilities being the lead HR professional in the firm, managing a small and dedicated team and reporting directly to the firm's Chief Executive with whom you will work closely. This will include Provision of human resource and employment law advice within the firm. People management responsibility for: HR Administrator, Training Officer and three Receptionists Management of employee relations, ensuring that all matters are handled appropriately in line with Firm policy and legislative requirements. Communication and management of the firm's talent management programme including the completion of performance reviews, liaising with training mentors and both individual and group meetings with staff. Management of the firm's human resource plan including appropriate recruitment and selection, training and development and job design (i.e. job descriptions / person specifications) for fee earners and support staff. Management of the firm's reward structure including an annual salary review, benefit renewals and provision of salary information on a monthly basis to the Payroll Co-ordinator. Managing the recruitment of trainee solicitors and ensuring adherence to SRA guidelines. Facilitating the documentation of CPD points, practising certificates and other Law Society compliance issues. Maintaining and updating the employee handbook in line with firm policy and legislative changes. Responsibility for office duties including insurance renewal and ensuring the completion of any outstanding insurance claims Management of human resource projects to facilitate both firm and personal development. Assisting the Chief Executive with tasks and projects as required. You should ideally be fully or part CIPD qualified, potentially looking to make the next step in your career, have a pragmatic and business focused approach to HR.
