Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a British institution within the retailing world.
Working for the HR Director you will have exposure to the whole generalist remit and be responsible for a team of 3. An enthusiastic, energetic and positive approach is required along with a real passion to make a difference.
As well as all the day to day operational work you will have a number of key projects to manage and be a part of the senior management team.
You must have had HR experience working within retail and an exposure to fashion is desirable.
Human Resources manager
Reports to - HR & Change Director
Main purpose -. To support the company's business plan by implementing an effective HR Strategy and delivering a proactive HR service to the Business that will have maximum impact on employee engagement, productivity and ultimately service and profitability
Communication
- Ensure communication of all employee changes and where necessary via consultation process.
- Communicate regularly with Directors and Heads of departments
- Communicate of the HR Strategy to the business
- Deliver a proactive HR service to the business, striving to provide the highest service levels at all times
Recruitment & Selection
- Manage the recruitment plan by implementing a progressive recruitment strategy to provide a constant supply of high calibre employees.
- Develop and implement new and appropriate selection and recruitment techniques, both internal and external, to meet both business needs and HR policy and practice, within budget.
- Work with Managers to plan appropriate staffing levels to match commercial needs and within cost parameters.
- Monitor and evaluate staff turnover, and develop a clear strategy to improve staff retention.
- Advise on Visa/work permit applications
- Responsible for recruitment for HR Team
- Assist in high level recruitment processes when necessary
Employee Relations
- Develop and implement best practice at all times
- Advise Directors & Managers on policy and processes and support them in its implementation eg. change management, department restructure, redundancy selection and consultation
- Ensure the company meets its legislative requirements.
- Advise and develop line managers on appropriate high level disciplinary and grievance procedures in accordance with HR & legal guidelines
- Assist Managers & Directors in identifying performance and conduct issues and support them to deal with them effectively
- Consult with Employment Lawyers with regard to tribunals & high risk situations
- Advise Managers on performance management programmes and how to manage and implement
- Ensure HR policies are user friendly,'' are communicated to the business effectively, are adhered to and are accessible.
- Review and update policies as required
- Keep abreast of reward & recognition in the market place and develop new and existing compensation polices for the business ensuring they remain competitive within industry
- Develop processes to ensure a consistent approach in people management systems.
- Review all current processes and streamline where possible
- Ensure Contracts of Employment and offer letters meet all legislative requirements and are user friendly'.
Functional Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the HR Team
- Together with Payroll Manager manage the remuneration and benefits for employees
Strategic Planning
- Review HR reports and use this information to identify and focus on key issues with managers
- Evaluate KPI's and implement processes to improve results
- Support the company business objectives and implement the HR Strategy to reflect these
