Our client is a public sector organization who now require an HR Officer to assist them advising staff and managers on all aspects of HR. The Officer will facilitate and support recruitment and selection including advertising through to induction, will manage sickness absence, advising line managers on matters relating to sickness absence and attend welfare meetings if required. The post holder will provide advice and guidance all first stage grievances, disciplinaries, and performance issues and support line managers during such meetings, will advise staff on all matters relating to terms of employment and their entitlements.
All applicants must have proven experience of handling employee relations issues and recruitment underpinned by a sound knowledge of employment law and ideally be CIPD or part CIPD qualified (or have equivalent experience). Candidates should also have excellent IT skills. This is a 9 month contract to start as soon as possible.
