Our client, a large distributor is looking for a HR Consultant to provide generalist HR support to their business.
Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, the HR Consultant provides a generalist HR service to managers within their area. The HRC plays a key role in advising and supporting their Line Management Team in the management of their people in order to enable them to achieve their own regional/depot level performance objectives.
Job purpose:
To provide a generalist HR service to all first line managers based at locations within their area, ensuring that the HR function focuses on professional value added issues.
Key Responsibilities include:
Provide employment law advice and ensure compliance with contracts, agreements, policies and procedures
Provide advice at disciplinaries, grievances and appeals, as appropriate
Provide support on and undertaking local consultation with Trade Unions.
Actively assist line managers in the effective management of sickness absence
Advise on performance management processes
Advise on recruitment and selection methods and their application
Maintain headcount information and organisation charts
Complete all relevant admin processes and records for designated sites and liaise closely with the HR Admin Team
Provide advice on on-going training needs analysis as required
Deliver training and HR briefings to line management
Management development panel assessments
Ideally the Candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
Qualified to degree level or equivalent
Up to date knowledge and application of UK employment law
Strong knowledge and experience in dealing with Trades Union
Practical experience of HR in the workplace
