Many businesses claim to have HR at the centre of their agenda, but my client, a leading manufacturer in the Thames Valley, really does place an effective Human Resource strategy at the centre of their growth and development. Due to internal moves, they now have a vacancy for an HR Manager to come in an continue to contribute to their success.
A highly-generalist role sitting on the senior management team, this opportunity will see you heading up a small HR team to offer coverage to a multisite business across the UK encompassing:
- Employee relations
- Talent planning/training
- Recruitment
- Advising the rest of the senior management team as the HR expert
The role naturally comes with all the challenges and rewards you would anticipate in a manufacturing environment, requiring excellent employee relations and ideally development/training skills, but above all comes with the chance to make a real difference with your HR skills.
As the successful candidate you should be able to demonstrate a pragmatic and business-focused approach to HR. You should be an active and proactive member of the management team, able to inspire employees and other members of the team alike.You should be resilient and able to demonstrate success in a similar role/environment in the past (for example, manufacturing, construction, engineering - businesses with a strong mix of blue and white collar workers.) CIPD and degree-level qualified, you should be flexible to an extent on travel (although it is only anticipated you will be needing to travel to other areas of the business for around 5 days per month.)
