Job Description

This role provides supervision of a team of HR support staff operating in a structured environment to provide transactional and first line advisory support for a wide variety of HR activities across the London and some processes for Hong Kong and New York offices.

the team is evolving at a rapid rate as processes are migrated from elsewhere within HR (London and International) and in this role you will play a key role in ensuring the team is developed sufficiently to absorb the new processes and the transition of new process is effective and efficient.


Key Responsibilities & Challenges

The role includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of centrally located HR Operational Services team, all reactive elements of day to day service management, including escalation, problem and workload management.

Develop relationships across the HR and L&D teams to ensure service delivery from the HR Operational Services team meets local/global needs and ensuring change to working practice involved in the delivery of each service is smoothly implemented. 

The Team Leader will have primary responsibility for ensuring that the service provided to its clients by the team conforms with the agreed target SLAs, following the agreed processes, procedures and guidelines and is judged to be best practice. SLAs will need to be agreed for new processes and frequently revised where appropriate.

This will include, but not be limited to, the supervision of the HR Operational Service team so that they are motivated and deliver high levels of service. The Team Leader will be responsible for tracking and implementing training and development of each member of the team to ensure all team members provide consistent levels of support, advice and client service. 

Deputise for the HR Operations Manager where necessary or appropriate.


Characteristics, Skills & Experience Required

Essential

·         Must be articulate and confident in communicating at all levels within the organisation and to large groups of people

·         Able to demonstrate the ability to drive and adapt to change

·         Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and manage complex issues

·         Developmental leadership style to invest in technical and non-technical abilities of the team

·         Experience of developing and monitoring SLAs

·         Interpreting metrics

·         Experience of MS windows operating systems and MS office applications

·         Basic knowledge of IT applications used across the HR function including SAP or similar HR System/ERP

·         Capable of deputising for the HR Operations Manager ·      Excellent Oral and Written communication skills

·         Organised, Methodical and thorough in approach

·         Good at building and utilising a network of contacts across the Function/Firm

·         Committed to providing excellent client service ·      Leadership and team building skills

·         Excellent interpersonal skills

·         Excellent understanding of the activities, support and service provided by an HR team within a legal practice

·         Good Analytical ability Desirable

·         An understanding of the core business activities of the firm. Advanced knowledge of IT systems

·         Access, Project and Visio. Familiar with Remedy or other call logging systems

·         Experience of Document comparison software/document management systems

·         Understanding of a legal practice and its business drivers

·         Experience of supplier management
