Job Description

This large and diverse public sector organisation in West Yorkshire currently has an opening for a strong HR Manager to assist in the running of this busy department in a time of change, and ensure that HR enables the business to meet its wider goals both short and long term. You will look after the following:
Motivate and inspire a large HR team to deliver goals and create a culture of teamwork
Work closely with the Head of HR to set and implement HR strategy for the business
Take the lead on HR projects and initiatives to add value to the business and maximise the impact of HR on the business
Take responsibility for all operational day to day developments within the department and deal with escalated matters from the team
Build relationships across the business with senior managers and colleagues to ensure that HR remains a valued and critical function
Build the capacity of line managers in HR issues over time to enable them to be effective resource managers
Set and monitor operational targets for sickness and performance
Drive and manage change initiatives across the business and work with similar bus To undertake this role successfully you should be capable of demonstrating the following:
Leadership of a large team in a similar large scale environment with the ability to inspire, motivate and maximise productivity through credibility and gravitas
Ability to engage with stakeholders, gaining their respect and communicate a shared vision for business aligned HR. Ensuring people strategy remains at the forefront of management decisions
Operationally manage a critical large scale function that is heavily unionised and constantly challenging
Ability to devise and implement HR strategy
Budgetary success and streamlining practices to produce cost saving results
High degree of personal integrity, knowledge of risk minimalisation and equality and diversity
Appropriate qualifications to enable you to undertake this senior role Our client is a large public sector organisation in West Yorkshire Up to 50k plus benefits Michael Page International is a world leading recruitment consultancy.
