We have an opportunity for a Learning and Development Consultant with responsibility for the Training, Design and Delivery Team.

This is a new role and the position and will be responsible for ensuring that training needs identified are translated into highly effective learning experiences (through E-learning, presentation, briefings, workshops, facilitation).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• People Management: Managing a team of direct reports responsible for the design and delivery of training workshops for staff .
• Delivering Projects: Leading the innovation of training design and delivery methods for the training offering.
• Delivering Outcomes: Ensuring team delivers training design and delivery requirements.

Practically this would mean responsibility for:

• Designing and delivering appropriate training events.
• Delivering training commissioned economically and efficiently through effective resource management to keep utilisation of training team as high as possible.
• Manage the scheduling of internal and external training against the agreed brief.
• Provide ongoing quality control to ensure that standards are consistently maintained.
• Maintaining accreditation of training excellence for providers.
Who we're looking for
What skills are required:

Essential

Technical Capability

• Detailed L&D technical knowledge (Learning theory and practice - Training needs analysis, curriculum development, standard setting, training schemes and approaches , learning evaluation approaches, pedagogics, learning styles) to proactively innovate, challenge and quality assure the training programme designed and delivered.
• Ability to use industry knowledge to achieve wider company objectives - ability to see linkages /identify themes / make connections across company objectives through the design and delivery of the training programme commissioned.
• Good project management skills to ensure design work carried out to scope and time frame agreed.
• Able to identify development trends and activities in external market / industry and is able to articulate impact and relevance to the organisation and implement changes to training design and delivery to manage and quality control training delivered.

Relationship Management

People Management
• Exceptional people management skills, managing potentially a large number of direct reports, experienced training professionals requiring ability to give large degrees of autonomy supported by appropriate checkpoints.
• Able to plan complex scheduling of trainers to training demand set to meet training needs but also manage reasonable expectations
