Job Description
• Delivery of firm wide induction and supporter of the continuous improvement of department inductions
• Key point of contact for training representatives and other firm-wide training sponsors
• Owner of Trainee Development Programme and Newly Qualified group (includes liaison, evaluation and delivery of some modules)
• Owner of the L & D calendar, ensuring review and implementation of activities
• Owner of annual reporting processes and feedback to HR Partners and the wider firm (includes the evaluation of programmes where appropriate)
• Support the annual appraisal process, ensuring training needs are identified and shaped into development plans that are fit for purpose for all departments and functions
• Key contact with Law Society and other professional bodies ensuring that all interventions meet the standards and anticipate future changes
• Degree level (or equivalent) with at least five years' experience within a senior L & D role. Experience of the legal sector or professional services would be an advantage
• Professional learning and development qualification (e.g. CIPD Certificate/Diploma in Learning and Development or equivalent);
• Proven track record in a similar responsible role - specifically
o Passion for learning and development
o Evidence of diagnosing the need for, designing and implementing a learning solution
o Evidence of creating and implementing competency frameworks
o Evidence of personal delivery of training (classroom based)
o An aptitude for systems and a comfort with data production and manipulation (including excellent personal IT skills e.g. Excel and Power point)
o Ability to understand how L & D systems and processes integrate with each other, with HR and business processes
o Evidence of ability to diagnose learning and development needs of individuals
o Evidence of ability to support managers in their understanding and implementation of L & D processes (e.g. appraisals)
