Knowledge & Learning Manager - Business Services - 65k
Overview
This international law firm is looking for a Manager to lead the design and delivery of targeted and strategic learning and organisational development projects/programmes to support the needs of Business Services at a global level. The role holder is the effective account manager for Business Services within the K & L team. There will be a specific focus on the review and redesign of the global Business Services L&D curriculum and follow up work on the Culture Survey.
This role has a global remit and is responsible for providing Knowledge & Learning support and targeted Knowledge & Learning interventions globally.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications Required
- Work with the L&D management team on a global basis to plan design and deliver learning based on the strategic focus of the team and the added value derived for the firm Consultant Role
Consult at Director and Senior Manager level across the firm in order to understand their business goals and advise on appropriate learning interventions to support these goals
- Influence decision-making at this senior level to determine most appropriate interventions and engage senior management to gain buy-in for implementation of these
- Consult with HR/Learning & Development Managers and Advisors globally to ensure buy-in and support for global initiatives and to ensure accurate understanding of local need
- Ensure that L&D solutions are appropriate to the needs of the business and support key messages Responsible for ensuring that L&D solutions positively reinforce desired organisational and individual behaviour
- Apply knowledge of core L&D tools and L&D best practice (e.g. designing training, leading training needs analyses, knowledge of coaching/mentoring programmes) in order to:
- Drive forward and carry out hands-on work within any area of the cycle (analysis, design, development, delivery, evaluation)
- Advise clients and own team on the most pragmatic approach to take in any of these areas by balancing requirements for resources against outcomes for the firm
- Utilise expertise of L&D and Knowledge specialists to facilitate effective implementation of initiatives within the organisation
- Project manage own L&D initiatives and related teams
- Deliver internal training courses/inductions across the business, including global courses and local courses running outside of London
- Facilitate discussions up to senior management and director level with credibility in order to draw out objectives and strategy
- Coach the firm's employees as appropriate
- Manage relationships between firm and external suppliers in L&D field. Includes:
- Influence decision-making over appropriate external faculty/consultants/venues through proven experience of managing supplier relationships in the past
- Pro-actively manage supplier relationships to ensure that most value is gained from the relationship
- Ensure that all relationships are managed within the parameters of departmental and firm policy, including the development and management of service level agreements where appropriate
- Design and/or champion processes to support the Knowledge & Learning function and ensure they are captured in an appropriate way
- Manage relationship with HR/ K&L Managers and Advisors globally in relation to infrastructure to support their initiatives Budgets/business planning
- Responsible for business planning in relation to courses/projects, faculty and related costs for Business Services
