My client is a major international player in the oil and gas industry and is looking for a Learning & Development Specialist.
In this role you will be required to;
- Ensure that each employee receives a Performance Evaluation from his/her manager, that a Development Plan is produced from this and that a meeting takes place between the manager and the employee.
- Carry out an annual Training Gap/Needs Analysis and hold discussions with managers to develop a Training Plan geared to the objectives of the business and to an agreed Budget.
- Source internal and external providers to deliver the agreed training and development needs in accord with budgetary controls
- Form closer relationships with the Universities to inform them of the attractiveness of the Graduate Training Scheme to their students, with the aim of encouraging them to gear their courses more to the needs of our business rather than modules embedded within courses.
- Form relationships with Engineering and other Institutions with the aim of providing the Company with support in the recruitment, training and development of staff as well as publicising and promoting company profile within the industry and the UK.
- Follow up Potential Assessments by defining with management the development plans for the high-fliers in the Company.
- Monitor newly qualified graduates in their first 3 years with the Company with regard to their orientation, integration and development within the Company, following the Climate
- Analysis initiative which consists of questionnaires and follow up interviews.
- Co-ordinate and support similar strategies for other companies in the North Atlantic area
You will have the following competencies;
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or CIPD qualified in Training Practice or HR Management
- Extensive experience in a senior capacity in a Learning & Development function within a Company
- Proven experience of Senior Management training, Coaching and Mentoring.
- Previous Supervisory experience and excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Internet)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good negotiator able to obtain buy-in of senior management and staff alike
- Ability to work well in line with the aims and culture of the business
- Well organised with the ability to prioritize workload independently.
- Willing to undertake short assignments away from Normal Place of Work, including some overseas
