HRCAREERS client is an exciting international business servicing customers around the world.
Role
The Development Manager is responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of the graduates to the international development programme for graduates and to contribute to the wider Organisational Development agenda by contributing to the execution of the OD projects. The role involves managing a small team and significant international travel.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. To develop and oversee a structured plan to recruit 25 – 30 graduates per year, in line with business needs, flexing the plan where appropriate.
2. To manage the graduates’ placements to ensure they gain broad experience on the programme covering the range of platform businesses and business disciplines.
3. To develop internal and external relationships to ensure that the graduates get as broad a range of placement opportunities and ultimately permanent roles as possible
4. To manage the placements to ensure that tax implications are minimised.
5. To find permanent roles for the graduates at the end of their time on the programme.
6. To plan, manage and execute development centres for the graduates, including feedback to all participants.
7. To assist on assessment centres as required in the UK.
8. To act as assessor and centre Manager for assessment centres in the USA and Asia.
9. To assist in the development of the internal training offered to the graduates.
10. To assist the newly appointed graduates in the selection of appropriate external training and to agree the appropriate spend for this.
11. To report on the outcomes of the graduate programme to the Director of OD/Group HRD as required.
12. To manage the biannual Conference and annual Awards Conference.
13. To maintain high standards for recruitment, retention and management of the graduates on the programme
14. To benchmark the programme internally and externally to ensure that this evolves in line with best practice.
15. To help with the design and development of the induction programme and to deliver parts of this programme.
16. To manage and report back on the budget to ensure that this is on plan and to put in place contingencies if required.
17. To contribute to the wider activities of the Organisational Development section of the Group HR Department.
Skills and Competencies
• Languages are not essential, but an advantage.
• A background in HR with CIPD would be helpful.
• Experience of dealing with all levels of a matrix organisation
