JOB DESCRIPTION/PERSON SPECIFICATION
JOB TITLE:HR Advisor(Training)
RESPONSIBLE TO:Group HR Manager
OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
To contribute to the delivery of high-quality HR, training and development services across the Group that visibly contribute value and meet customer demand acting as Lead Advisor on training services across the group.
KEY TASKS:
Coordinate Objective Setting and Development Scheme, and promote the benefits of the Scheme.
Analyse training and development requirements, and source appropriate, timely and innovative events to meet those requirements.
Deliver in-house training and team development events to support soft skills and management/team development.
Assist with the development of an annual training plan for the Group which reflects corporate objectives and includes measures for evaluating the impact of learning and development activities.
Develop effective relationships with managers and staff in agreed business areas, to understand their business issues and priorities.
Provide professional advice to managers and staff on HR and Training procedures and policies. Ensure effective communication of these to managers and staff at all levels.
Keep up to date with current legislative changes and in consultation with the Group HR Manager, ensure that managers are aware of changes in employment law and that revised HR and Training policies and procedures are adhered to.
Advise managers and staff on absence, disciplinary, performance and grievance issues and attend hearings in the capacity of adviser. Undertake the lead on cases as agreed with the Group HR Manager.
Assist in advising managers on appropriate recruitment methods for permanent and temporary staff, encourage best practice on short listing, interviewing and testing applicants, providing support as necessary. Assist with writing job descriptions, person specifications, job adverts and information packs, liaising and placement of adverts with recruitment media/agencies.
Assist in raising relevant paperwork for payroll changes to meet monthly deadlines. Create and maintain accurate staff records in ASR. Ensure all payroll changes are confirmed in writing to staff within a week of authorization and no later than transmission date.
Assist with the production of offer letters and contracts for new starters/changing terms and conditions as required. Liaise with HR Administrator to ensure that the new starter process is completed accurately and to agreed deadlines.
To assist in developing and maintaining HR and HR (IT) systems and procedures to ensure that HR services meet customer demands and requirements for effective HR operations.
Provide reports on HR and Training activities as required.
Undertake specific HR/training projects as required by the Assistant Director, HR/Group HR Manager/Senior HR Advisor from time to time.
GENERAL TASKS:
To ensure all work undertaken is in line with Data Protection requirements and a high degree of confidentiality is maintained at all times.
To undertake other tasks as directed by the Assistant Director, Human Resources/ Group HR Manager/ Senior HR Advisor and support all colleagues during periods of absence and heavy workloads.
Contribute to the implementation of ISO quality assurance within the Group and participate in follow up actions.
