  • Scale 4, Point 8-12 (Full Time Equivalent £24,702 - £26,421 p.a pro rata)
  • 20-35 hours, per week; 38 weeks per year
  • Actual weekly hours can be confirmed at interview; flexible working pattern available
  • Typical working hours for a full-time position will be 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Business Support Assistant to join our team. You will work alongside the Business Support Manager to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient operation of the college, supporting teachers to deliver outstanding lessons. This role includes managing daily cover for absences, and handling HR and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrange daily cover for planned and unplanned absences
  • Support recruitment for supply staff
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements for supply staff
  • Prepare and display timetables and room changes for events
  • Maintain records of cover allocations and expenditures
  • Handle HR duties such as maintaining confidential staff records and processing staff absences
  • Administer financial systems and ensure compliance with financial policies
  • Process purchase orders and resolve payment queries
  • Support equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices


The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a team environment and demonstrates high personal initiative. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven track record in administration, finance, or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other ICT packages
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High professional standards and attention to detail
