WHO ARE VALLEYS TO COAST?

We are a not for profit organisation who provide and manages over 6,000 homes across Bridgend, with a purpose that people feel happy and safe.

We truly recognise that our greatest strength is the people we employ. Our colleagues are the face of Valleys to Coast and they set the tone and focus for our customer experience. By creating a workplace that offers encouragement, development and fun that we hope colleagues will be inspired to play to their strengths and bring their best self to work every day.

An effective people strategy sits at the core of how we operate as an organisation and building a “can do” culture will help us to achieve the best for ourselves and those we serve will be fundamental to the way we do business and deliver social value.

WHAT YOU’LL DO?

You will support us in becoming a modern, well run organisation that is defined by its amazing customer service and is a really great place to work.

As well as managing a core team of 6 HR, learning and OD colleagues, you’ll be our people expert working with our Board, Chief Executive, Strategic Leadership Team and colleagues across the business to shape drive and implement our people strategy.

Our strategy will be reflective of our values, purpose and mission of the organisation and fit for purpose and the future.

You will work with the leadership team on their people strategies and ensure that they operate in a safe and compliant manner from a people perspective.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of responsibilities, from union negotiations to recruitment, employee relations to leadership development.

YOUR BACKGROUND

You will be a HR professional with proven leadership capability and experience.

You will have the drive to deliver the very best service for our customers through effective management of HR and OD functions.

You will be CIPD qualified at least at Level 7 or MCIPD and have continuous professional development.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is a people person with the skills and experience to work with all colleagues from all backgrounds.

We employ a wide range of people who all do a wide range of varied jobs so it is essential that you are approachable and influential.

The leadership team is collaborative, dynamic and are looking forward to welcoming you as a trusted partner to the team.

Flexible Working: We value people and want to empower you to work where, when and how you choose, with maximum flexibility and minimum constraints. This will help you optimise your performance and deliver great value and customer service.

Our aim is to create a more responsive, efficient and effective organisation that improves business performance and increases customer satisfaction and hope our flexible working arrangements will help you achieve this.

Generous Annual Leave: We know how important it is to take regular breaks from work so you can rest and re-energise. You can enjoy a generous annual leave allowance, paid for by us. You’ll receive a minimum of 25 holiday days each year, plus extra days annual leave each year you are with us up to 5 years. You’ll also receive the 8 days bank/public holidays.

Generous Pension Contribution: We recognise it is important to save money for later in life and by saving a little of your income regularly during your working life so you have an income if you choose to work less or retire. To support this we offer a generous contribution to your pension by offering a scheme where we match  up to 8% contributions.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK IN HOUSING?

If you ask anyone who works in housing about what it’s like to work here the majority of the answers will say definitely the people and how rewarding it is.

As an independent organisation, we occupy a unique position whereby we can combine our drivers of social purpose with delivering efficient business operations.

Don’t just take our word for it though, we are part of a wider campaign called ‘This is Housing’ where we showcase what the sector is really like and what career opportunities are available.
