My client is an independent business that is a leader in its field with currently eight locations in the southern half of England and ambitious plans for future growth.
While it already has a strongly people oriented culture and a number of progressive policies and initiatives, it has reached the point where future growth requires a stronger and more professional lead from HR. This role, reporting to the CEO, has been created to ensure that HR has a key strategic input into the development of the business. Leading a small team, and covering all elements of the HR portfolio, your role will be to bring modern HR thinking combined with a commercial, business focused approach.
Key areas of focus will be the recruitment and retention of staff, the creation of a progressive and coherent employee benefits package and the development and management of the existing apprenticeship programme.
We are looking for graduate calibre candidates, professionally qualified, who have built their careers in multi-site environments that are respected for their forward thinking approach to the recruitment, retention and motivation of their staff. They will need to be comfortable working across all levels in the business, excellent communicators and relationship builders, with a committed and tenacious approach. A high level of computer literacy and familiarity with HR systems is also essential.
The plan is for this role to also take responsibility, in time, for the operational management of the business, working with the Site Managers and this creates an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to broaden their experience and create a platform for future career growth.
