Here at Trafford Housing Trust, we are now looking for a Head of HR and OD who will support the Director of People in leading and developing the HR, OD/L&D and payroll functions; providing both transactional and transformational services that challenge and support the organisation in equal measure. Duties will include;
Lead on the delivery of the People Strategy including diversity and inclusion; recruitment and retention; salary benchmarking and JE; and health and wellbeing.
Lead on the development and delivery of innovative projects, programmes and initiatives for employee engagement and recognition, wellbeing, talent management and succession planning.
Lead on the development and delivery of appropriate plans and programmes to ensure all employees have the skills, knowledge and experience to perform their roles to the highest standard
Provide consistent and expert HR support to managers across the organisation, ensuring that all business units receive a comprehensive and professional HR service which supports the delivery of corporate objectives.
Review all People-related policies and processes to ensure they are up to date, in line with the organisation’s vision and purpose, comply with current legislation, and support best practice and manager ownership.
Responsible for overseeing the monthly payroll service and ensuring a ‘right first time’ approach.
Manage Employee Relations, lead on escalated ER matters, and ensure the business is kept informed of all legislation within HR and Employment Law
Develop and coach individuals and teams and foster a customer-centric culture.
Encourage challenge against previously accepted performance to raise standards, promoting and recognising exemplary performance
Manage health and safety issues within your service area in line with the relevant policies.
For this role, you will need most or all of:
A HR or OD qualification and CIPD membership.
Experience as an HR generalist with a strong OD focus.
An ongoing commitment to your own continuous professional development.
Ability to engage and work effectively with other Senior Managers.
A track record of successfully managing a team.
Experience of managing budgets.
Strong employment law knowledge.
Experience overseeing the delivery of an in-house payroll service.
