Elevation Human Resources are currently recruiting for an HR Advisor to join a leading engineering business in South Yorkshire. This is a newly recreated role working alongside the HR Manager in supporting c250 staff at the Rotherham site, with occasional UK travel to other sites.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and experienced HR Advisor to take responsibility for a diverse range of HR activities including; recruitment, advising on policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and employment law guidance, grievance and disciplinary procedures and absence management. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of HR projects.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

-Delivering front line HR support and advice to employees and line mangers
-Managing the recruitment and selection process; working with line managers to identify requirements, create job specs and interview candidates
-Dealing with performance management and performance reviews
-Absence management using Bradford factor, taking the lead on reducing sickness absence through active management of cases including short and long term absence
-Coordinating maternity, paternity, changes to terms & conditions and flexible working requests
-Dealing with complex employee relations issues

Key skills & experience required for this role:

-Proven experience in a HR advisory level position within a manufacturing or engineering environment
-Experience of end to end recruitment processes including interviewing and selection
-Experience within a unionised environment
-CIPD qualified or working towards
-Strong knowledge of employment law
-Experience of handing a variety of ER case work
-Ability to plan and manage a demanding workload with competing priorities
-Ability to develop effective working relationships and demonstrate professional credibility
