HR and Governance Assistant – 12-month Maternity Cover BLUH59182
£22,500 per annum

Our client is currently looking for a HR & Governance Assistant to join them for approximately 12 months on a maternity cover contract.

They are currently looking for a HR & Governance Assistant, providing an ideal opportunity to build on existing skills and experience and further develop their career. The successful applicant will make a significant and effective contribution to both the HR and Governance Team and the company - ensuring that it is well positioned to achieve its vision, values and performance targets. 

The HR and Governance function is fully integrated in the business, which means you will work alongside all levels of staff up to senior leaders and the executive team.  Reporting to the HR Adviser, you will cover a wide range of activities including: 

  • acting as the first point of contact for all routine queries, providing advice and guidance to employees and managers in relation to HR matters;
  • supporting recruitment campaigns;
  • administration of HR processes for employee lifecycle;
  • updating and maintaining the HR database by processing all people related data in strict compliance with GDPR;
  • delivering excellent quality, flexible and customer focussed services;
  • support line managers with investigations under the guidance of the HR Adviser;
  • preparation of statistics and reports;
  • presenting first day induction to new hires on a one to one basis;
  • note taking at our clients newly created employee forum;
  • acting as a support to the Assistant Company Secretary by providing high quality administrative assistance to ensure a seamless service is provided to the Board and Senior Leadership Team;
  • preparation for Board meetings to include the provision and distribution of Board packs and minute taking.

Ideally qualified to CIPD Level 3 and with a good standard of education, you will have experience of administering HR processes and of providing administrative support.  With strong attention to detail and knowledge of Microsoft Office, you will be an excellent communicator with evident organisational and time management skills. 

Our client has over 3,500 properties housing 10,000 customers in the Sussex coastal area. They provide affordable rented homes, key worker accommodation, low-cost shared ownership, sheltered housing and new homes for local people.
