HR Assistant

Salary: £18,720 pro rata (£7,488)

Hours: 16hpw Wednesday & Thursday or Friday – (half hour unpaid lunch) over 2/ 3 days – flexible work pattern is possible (please discuss at interview)

Our client provides outsourced HR support to SME’s across North West & North Wales, Staffordshire & Leeds with a number of clients in the following sectors: manufacturing, engineering, arts and cultural, retail and charities.

They have grown considerably over the past few years and as a result of rapid growth – they currently have an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join their busy team. You may be expected on occasions to travel to other client locations to support - in North Wales/ Chester/ Wirral and Liverpool as required. Training & development will be provided and I will be looking to support the individual to develop their career further within HR.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing Contracts of Employment for various clients – ensuring attention to detail and accuracy
  • Preparing Employee Handbooks for clients - ensuring that fit for purpose & grammatically correct and up to date
  • Liaising with clients to agree documentation changes and finalise documents
  • Answering general telephone or email queries regarding any HR issues by clients or new client enquiries
  • Involvement with Project Work as required
  • Recruitment administration - designing advertisements, screening applicants, providing shortlists, devising timetables, interview documentation, assessment materials
  • Training & development documentation – team exercises, presentations and materials required at the training
  • Preparation for HR seminars
  • Ensuring the HR documentation database is kept up to date
  • Support with implementing HR systems for clients – administration of cloud-based systems, uploading documentation and answering queries
  • Support with Social Media campaigns – updating social media – twitter, facebook, linked in and website changes (liaising with the web site provider with any changes)
  • General administration for the business – sending emails, sending invoices, booking suitable venues for seminars

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong interest to work in HR
  • Previous experience of working within a HR Administration function
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills – both face to face and on the telephone
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
  • Professional manner and confident to deal with problems & people at all levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with little supervision
  • Ability to use initiative and take a proactive approach to working
  • Minimum GCSE grades A – C in English & Maths
  • Competent in Microsoft IT software – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ideally working towards CIPD qualification however this is not essential
