- Standalone HR Manager role
My client are a leading discounter retailer selling food, drink, clothing, toys & clothing.
- To support, mentor, coach and drive the Human Resource function and all associated staff, in the delivery of HR service to Head Office, Distribution Centre's and Operational Stores
- Ensure organisational structures and headcount continue to optimise commercial performance
- Ensure operational day-to-day delivery of business-aligned HR service, whilst continually looking to improve service provision/create "vision" of best-in-class HR service
- Increase visibility of HR Operation through credibility and gravitas
- Develop strong working relationships with department Heads/Directors to optimise HR/Operations synergies.
- Ensure workflow processes are efficient and streamlined with centralised/devolved/remote teams
- Create understanding, trust and shared-interest between HR and Operational teams
- Ensure consistency of approach/service provision, via H.O./Distribution and Field teams
- Ensure delivery of pragmatic/business-aligned HR solutions to enable effective support of business and deliver enhanced commercial results
- CIPD Qualified Level 5 or above
- Strong character with ability to robustly guide and advise senior field based colleagues

- Track record of successful management of Human Resource function in a large multi-site retail business including Head Office and Distribution functions, within a fast paced, dynamic / expanding business.Substantial experience of working within the retail industry would be preferred.
- A proven record of building strong relationships with Managers/Directors and understanding the complexities of their business and operational needs. Possess the ability to target these needs with a robust and high quality HR service
- Ability to verbally demonstrate/position the added-value service delivery that effective HR's structures offer a commercial business
- Experience of managing and developing a dispersed team.
