Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced HR professional to own, drive and lead on all HR processes and practices across the Group which is made up of It's Nice That, Anyways Creative, Lecture in Progress and If You Could Jobs. We have a workforce of roughly 40 staff made up of Creatives, Writers, Project Managers, Marketing, PA and a Studio Manager. The HR Manager's purpose is to ensure they create and sustain a high performance culture, high job satisfaction, increased employee engagement by managing effective HR strategies. 

We are looking for someone who get's things done, passionate about people and puts the "Human" back in to Human Resources. You will provide a high quality and efficient HR advice and support to Directors, Senior Management and Managers of The HudsonBec Group. Leading projects that will improve talent attraction, retention, employer brand, diversity, wellbeing to name a few. 


  • Have experience in and are passionate about creating an engaging environment for people to thrive in 
  • Have experience in creating and implementing HR strategies that are aligned with the Groups goals and vision. Identifying and nurturing key stakeholders along the way, understanding theirs and the Groups needs.  
  • Are a strong communicator with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive the importance of personal and professional development  
  • Possess a positive and can-do attitude when faced with challenges 
  • Come from a creative background or can be agile and willing to understand what it is like to work in the creative industry 
  • Experienced in management 
  • Focused on delivering a solution, always  
  • Are CIPD level 5 qualified 

Key Skills

  • Effective communication, whether in a senior leads meeting, negotiating HR related costs, giving employee relations advice, holding a grievance hearing or in a Group wide presentation 
  • Organisation, always one step ahead. Following and creating processes for HR workflows, demonstrating a methodical approach with high attention to detail in writing and with numbers
  • Project management, demonstrating a methodical approach to internal HR related projects
  • Emotional intelligence, understanding how creatives think, learn, produce their best work and tactfully applying HR practices that compliment that 
  • Analysis, able to identify and report on key HR metrics that will demonstrate progress in HR and Group goals and objectives
  • Influence and assertiveness, able to convince Managers, Leads and Directors best HR practices based on experience, data and research 
  • Carries out all HR related activities with tact, diplomacy, fairness and sensitivity where needed
  • Management, understands what it means to be a successful line manager so that you are able to coach and advise our Managers
  • Delegation, effectively able to delegate tasks amongst your team(s) creating a successful output


  • Strategic insight, identify new opportunities and challenges facing the Group and create strategies for improvement around but not limited to Reward and Benefits, Employee Engagement, and Training. Analyse and present HR data, making recommendations based on experience, research and best practice to the Directors and Leads team that align with the Groups strategy 
  • HR advice, to provide timely advice on all employment matters from employment law to best practice and ways to improve the HR provision
  • Annual management and communication of our pay review process
  • HR administration covering the entire employee life cycle from starters to leavers, including but not limited to sickness, annual leave, training records, turnover and ensuring employee records are up to date
  • Recruitment, to lead on recruitment strategies, posting of roles, training hiring managers, arranging interviews, keeping candidates informed of the process, obtaining and delivering feedback to unsuccessful candidates and managing the offer process for successful candidates including right to work through to on-boarding
  • Manage employee lifecycle from starters to leavers and everything in between
  • Policy, advise on any changes needed to policies and conducting regular reviews to ensure they are fit for purpose and relevant 
  • Accounts and payroll, preparing payroll timely every month for our external providers to process. Also, credit control ensuring our clients have everything they need to pay our invoices on time and appropriately chase if this goes over the due date
  • Learning and Development, create and implement from analysis a training strategy that supports the workforce's learning and development needs. Manage the training provision reporting on its effectiveness
  • Workforce planning, having a plan to measure risks and gaps in the workforce to ensure we have the right number of people, with the right skills to ensure high performance and produce our best work in turn ensuring high employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Data protection, responsible for overseeing all GDPR policies and requirements for the HR function, adhering to the 2018 legislation. Managing and conducting internal audits. Acting as the Data Protection Officer actioning any subject data requests within allowed timescales

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am — 6pm (flexible hours between 8am – 7pm except Fridays)
