Our client is now looking for a HR Assistant / HR Coordinator, with FastTrack progression, to support the business for all HR matters up to a defined level. Internally, this role will be a HR Officer.
Whilst they are a manufacturing organisation, you will work across industrial and commercial teams providing a HR support service. This may mean occasional travel for meetings as well as general exposure to your customer base by being present.
Your internal customers can be quite demanding so you will need to manage expectations and prioritisation. You will provide support and advice to first line managers and employees up to a defined level, on policies, procedures and HR processes for all matters involving an employee lifecycle. This will also include co-ordinating the administrative activities of the department including; recruitment, onboarding, payroll and absence.
There are different terms and conditions of employment across the various employee populations therefore having great attention to detail and the ability to retain information to give guidance is essential. The majority of their workforce is shop floor, and are represented by a collective union agreement, therefore you will need to be comfortable in this environment to support the correct process being followed.
The role holder must be able to adapt to changing priorities as well as multi-task. This position will be exposed to various functions and people so the ability to work with all levels, particularly to build positive working relationships, is critical.
You will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and will have a dotted line to the HR Advisor to ensure you are mentored and coached on all HR issues. This structure will help propel you into the challenging yet very rewarding world of HR, preparing you to fully grasp this role as well as develop you in your career.

• Good standard of English and Maths
• A degree with a HR focus or a HR certificate e.g. CIPD (you could be working towards this)
• A good working knowledge of HR, being able to drive through processes both within the team and the wider Business
• Must be flexible to respond to changing needs of the business/department and have a "hands on, can do" approach
• To have discretion when dealing with confidential issues
• You will be a tenacious individual willing to confidently stand their ground whilst engaged in a difficult conversation
• A confident multi-tasker being able to juggle a varied workload ensuring all deadlines are met and queries responded to in a timely manner
