Our Client administers the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS) and provides pensions to over 1.5 million people. They have in-depth knowledge and expertise in the administration of Defined Benefit pension schemes and provide tailored services to more than 300 Government employers. Also, through the Training and Employee Engagement Service, they offer training on a wide range of pension related topics and legislative change.

They now have an opportunity for a HR Officer to join their team where you will provide excellent support and ensure operational excellence throughout the HR function. This is a temporary contract for 12 months, based at their offices in Liverpool.

Within the role you will deliver a timely HR service and will be involved in areas of lower level Employee Relations (discipline, grievance, absence and performance management), as well as payroll data (inputting data into the payroll system, and validation) and data analytics, including producing reports. Carrying out general HR administrative tasks, you will be the initial point of contact for disciplinary, grievances and investigations, and will provide an advisory service for HR related matters. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach and interest in all aspects of HR, offering support in recruitment and L&D coordination and engagement activities as required.

They are looking for someone who has at least a years’ experience in dealing with all areas of the ER function. With experience of providing advice and recommendations to managers on HR related issues, you will have an up to date knowledge on employment law and good employment practice.

A CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable, but not essential. What is key is that you have excellent customer facing skills, outstanding communication skills and are an energetic and professional individual who can contribute to a team.
