Human Resources Administrator

Position: Human Resources Administrator 
Location: Oxford Gardens, London W10 
Job Type: Full time, permanent 
Hours: 36 hours per week 
Salary: Starting salary £26,000 - £28,000 

About the role: 

The Human Resources Administrator provides high quality administration support to the HR function, maintaining existing and implementing new systems and procedures. You will prepare data for the outsourced payroll provider and act as the organisation’s first point of contact on payroll and pension matters. 


- Coordinate recruitment activities and organisation induction programme in line with their policies and procedures 
- Support line managers in managing team members by advising on policies and procedures across a range of HR issues 
- Administer pay and benefits, including pension, accurately and consistently and in the interests of the organisation 
- Maintain sickness absence records and take appropriate action 
- Book training and carry out related administration 
- Responsible for data storage and retention of HR records, completing all filing in a timely manner and implementing the requirements of GDPR for HR 
- Provide information as required for management reporting 
- Responsible for monthly cycles of payroll data gathering, checking, validating, transferral and uploading and the query handling which accompanies this 
- Act as the first point of contact for all payroll and pension queries liaising with payroll and pension providers as necessary 

Essential criteria: 

- An HR qualification holding a Foundation Level Certificate, Certificate in Personnel Practice or equivalent 
- Minimum GCSE pass in English and Maths 
- Solid experience of general HR administration 
- Extensive experience of recruitment administration 
- Extensive experience of onboarding and leaver processes 
- Solid experience of supporting managers in the implementation of HR policies and procedures 
- Solid experience of managing payroll administration including working with an outsourced payroll provider and implementing a large number of changes in each cycle 
- A working knowledge of employment policies and procedures and how employment law influences these 
- A good understanding of standard terms and conditions of employment including employee benefits 
- Good IT skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets of medium complexity 
- Good verbal and written communication with a high standard of English 
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills 
- Able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality 
- Able to work independently and organise own workload 

Desirable skills: 

- Degree qualified, preferably in Business Studies, Business Administration or similar 
- Experience of HR administration within an SME, local authority and / or a complex employee relations environment 
- An understanding of safeguarding procedures and DBS checks 
- A basic knowledge of pension schemes including final salary schemes and auto-enrolment
